Fish and chips

After picking up our paperwork from the Stykkishólmur commissioner, we had to get some food (never stopped for breakfast because we’re dumb).

My handy itinerary had a local restaurant listed, but they didn’t open for an hour, so we took a walk around the port.

To the lighthouse

We could see people in the distance standing near a hilltop lighthouse, and so headed that way.

It was difficult to stay on the path, but we didn’t want to disrupt the moss 🙃. Equally difficult was keeping my mouth shut as other people moved off the path.

OMG Lunch

After our hike, we stalled a few minutes more so we wouldn’t be the creeps entering the restaurant the minute it opened. Apparently other people don’t care about this because when we walked in 7 minutes after they opened, there were already people seated.

I had the vegan burger, Peter had the fish burger. Both came with salty roasty potatoes. This was easily one of the best vegan burgers I have ever had, and would happily eat it again and again.

I would like to point out that about 2.5 years ago we were eating vegan burgers in Paris and Pete was wearing an eerily similar outfit today:

It was a very nice lunch and if ever I was “nearby,” I would absolutely stop back in. I also never thought I would be in a place where Artic Char is the catch of the day 😎

Love,

PD
